Jim West's Beach Loop drive of West Seattle
alki,alki beach,west seattle,endoline,
A third generation resident of West Seattle, Jim West, invites you to jump in your car and let him guide you around his neighborhood’s highlights. West Seattle is a peninsula surrounded by the salt waters of the Puget Sound, and it offers some of the best beach experiences in the Seattle area. Most of the beaches are walkable and very natural (the state laws have prevented commercial development on the tidelands). The beaches are varied in character from the sand beaches of Alki to the rocky beaches exposed to the tidal action. This tour is by car and covers 14 miles from the exit off I-5 to your return to I-5. With no stops, this tour will take you about 45 minutes to drive. BUT be forewarned that you will want to stop and enjoy the beaches and other areas along this tour route.
