Serving as his home and architectural laboratory, Wright lived here the first twenty years of his career (1889-1909). It is here that he developed the design concepts that shaped his architectural philosophy. With his wife, Catherine Tobin, he raised six children in this house. After living in the house for nine years Wright decided to build a studio, separate from the house, where he and associates designed 125 structures, and invented a new kind of architecture called Prairie style. On the tour you will visit both the house and the studio. Check out where some of the most famous buildings in America were designed, and see how the famous architect lived.
