Maritime Museum (Museu do Marinha)

Located next to the Monastery Jeronimos, the Maritime Museum is one of the most important maritime museums in Europe. With over 17,000 items on display, it highlights the eras when Portugal dominated the seas. There are replicas of many of Portugal’s most famous expedition ships and there are also replicas of some of Portugal’s most elaborate ceremonial barges. There is an entry fee but as with other museums in Lisbon entry is free on Sunday’s until 1400. It is open from 10 AM (1000) to 6 PM (1800) Tue-Sun. The museum is closed on Monday’s.
