Deadliest Tour by Captain Gary Covich
fishing, locks, Ballard, deadliest catch
The Deadliest Tour gives us a close-up view of Seattle’s home port for the fishing and crabbing vessels who fish the Bering Sea. The fleet includes several crab boats that are “stars” in the Discovery Channel’s popular show, “The Deadliest Catch”.
Our guide for this Deadliest Tour is Captain Gary Covich, skipper of the Seattle-based crabbing vessel, Cascade Mariner. In this tour, Capt. Covich shares the back story for the Seattle’s crab fleet. We go where the crews of the crab boats spend time while in port. This driving and walking tour is an authentic Seattle experience that any fan of the Deadliest Catch will definitely enjoy. And even if you aren’t a fan of the show, you will find this tour a great introduction to the home of the fishing industry in Seattle. The tour begins next to the salt water of Puget Sound and you end at the freshwater Fisherman’s Terminal.
