Tacoma boasts a Museum District that offers three memorable attractions – the Tacoma Art Museum, the Washington State History Museum, and the Museum of Glass.
Located on Pacific Avenue you will find Tacoma Art Museum was founded in 1935 and took a step forward in 2003 with the opening of a new building. It is considered a model for mid-sized regional museums.
From Pacific Avenue, you can reach The Museum of Glass via a skybridge lined with colorful blown glass. The museum boasts an iconic structure standing near the Thea Foss Waterway; the steel cone of the hot shop is one of the most recognizable structures in the city.
The Washington State History Museum is owned and operated by the Washington State Historical Society under the official approval of the Washington State Legislature.
