This national park is really a free museum that documents Seattle history, from the fire that burned it down to the gold rush that helped build it up. Suggest you plan a good hour to enjoy the displays found below street level in this smallest national park.
Worth your visit for the fascinating story of courage and gold-fever, not to mention the novelty of visiting this tiny National Park. Don't forget to get your National Park passport stamped!
Recommended as an excellent museum stop for a pre-Alaska cruise history lesson!
During summer season at 2 pm on Fridays – Sundays, the Park typically offers free 60 – 90 minute walking tours that begin at the park’s visitor center.
