Standing at 2260 feet above sea level, this volcanic outcrop was used by the Spokane Tribe as a lookout. The park was formed in 1908 and includes only 4.2 acres.
Climb up the steps of the big basalt rock to the open grassy area at the top.
On a clear day you can see as far as the Little Spokane River and Mount Spokane. From up there, the sky seems huge and the sunsets are beautiful.
Great spot for a picnic in a lovely part of town surrounded by quaint, turn-of-the-century houses.
The rock is also used as a rated climbing rock, complete with a mix of bolted routes and TR anchors.
Small parking lot.
Open from dawn to dusk.
