Cemiterio do Ingleses (British Cemetery) – (Photo Op)

Portugal and Great Britain have had a close association that goes back centuries. This cemetery was opened in 1717 and since then it has become the burial site for many UK ex-pats, the most famous of whom is Henry Fielding, author of Tom Jones. St George’s Anglican Church adjoins the cemetery as does what remains of the Jewish Cemetery. The Cemiterio is located next to Jardim da Estrela (see separate entry).
