Buffalo Eddy Petroglyphs
Nez Perce Petroglyphs, Hells Canyon, Asotin,sponsor
Part of Nez Perce National Historical Park, Buffalo Eddy features multiple petroglyphs on both sides of the Snake River in Hells Canyon, some dating from as far back as 4,500 years ago. Only the petroglyphs on the Washington side of the river are accessible to the public; they can be viewed by hiking a short, marked trail and visitors will see several styles of rock art that include representations of human figures, animals and abstract patterns.
