High Steel Bridge

The highest railway arch bridge ever built in the United States, the High Steel arch bridge soars 365 feet (111 mtrs) above the South Fork of the Skokomish River. The falls dry out by mid summer, so the best time to visit is November to February when the Skokomish River basin receives heavy rainfall.
Directions: exit Highway 101 at the signed road to the Skokomish Trailhead (Skokomish Valley Road). Drive this road for about 6 miles to where the pavement splits. Follow the right fork (non-dead end) up the hill for another 3 miles, losing the pavement for gravel about 1 mile along, then turn right along Road 2340, signed "High Steel Bridge, 3". Drive this route for 3 miles to the bridge. Park on either side.
It is on the National Register of Historic Places, with ID 82004265, and was added to the NRHP on July 16, 1982.
