Huntington Park
Huntington Park, Spokane Parks, Spokane River Lower Falls, Avista, sponsor
Huntington Park provides an experience of the power and beauty of the lower Spokane Falls on the Spokane River. The park is open all year, but the water flow changes with the season. To experience the roaring of the river, March-May is best. In the winter, the flow is drastically lower, but the rocks are exposed and fantastic ice formations appear making for some great photographs.
There are dozens of interpretive signs and many public art installations highlighting Native American culture and hydroelectric history.
The park is named after David L. Huntington, Washington Water Power's 3rd president.
Wheelchair access provides an overlook of the park and partial views of the river below.
There is limited metered parking on Post St. near the entrance and a Public Pay lot across the street.
Open 5:00 am – 11:00 pm
