This is an absolute “can’t miss” stop when traveling the Mountain Loop! Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, or CCC, in the 1930s, the station was recently remodeled and includes fantastic museum-quality displays of the history and natural wonders of the Loop. You can purchase a Recreation Pass that gives you access and parking at the many campgrounds, trailheads, and historic sites around the Loop, and you can gather all sorts of trail and hiking information at this Public Information Center.
