The Old Molson Museum is a reassembled pioneer town consisting of authentic buildings, farm machinery, historic mining equipment and numerous other relics. Old Molson was started by George Meacham, a promoter and John W. Molson, an investor. Originally, the boom town served as a trading center and place to live for gold seekers. The mining boom fell off in the late 1890's and the population plunged until the area opened to the homesteaders in 1900.
A non-commercialized ghost town offering a pioneer experience at its original best. It’s a window in the authentic past of Okanogan County
Today the three old townsites of the once boom town days still remain, New Molson, Old Molson and Central Molson. Visit the museums and learn more about the turmoil and changes of those boom times.
Old Molson is located 2 miles south of the Canadian border, and northeast of Oroville, Washington
