Open year round, dawn to dusk, the most active viewing time at the hatchery is in the fall when adult Chinook and Coho salmon return up Issaquah Creek to the Salmon Hatchery.
Many interpretive displays through-out the grounds describe the amazing lifecycle of salmon: migration from fresh water to salt water, their return two to four years later as adults to deposit their eggs in the stream and die, providing food for animals and nutrients to the environment. Watch them try to jump the weir in the stream, climb the fish ladder and view these amazing creatures thru our pond viewing windows.
Docent-led tours offered August through Mid-November and by appointment. Gift shop open on weekends Labor Day thru mid-Nov.
