Anacortes, trail, hike, history, waterfront, Tommy Thompson Trail, Fidalgo Bay,sponsor
Take the "Trail Tales" self-guided walk on the Tommy Thompson Trail along the beautiful shoreline of Fidalgo Bay. Cross the bay on the old railroad trestle and enjoy views of islands, Mt. Baker, birds and sea life. Make your walk a journey of discovery by stopping at our interpretive signs and learn about Anacortes history, ecology of the bay and shoreline, native cultures, and environmental cleanup work in the area. Pick up a Trail Tales map at the Visitor's Center in Anacortes and access the flat, paved trail at 34th Street or the Fidalgo Bay RV Resort. More information available at http://skagitbeaches.org where you can download the Trail Tales brochure and schedule of docent led interpretive walks. Learn more about these topics by clicking on the "Trail Tales" logo. Trail Tales is a project of Friends of Skagit Beaches, City of Anacortes and WA Dept. of Ecology.
