Reflection Lake Trail
Reflection Lake, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Rainier National Park, Hikes, trails,,sponsor
One of the most iconic views of Mt. Rainier in the park can be found at Reflection Lakes. Summer and fall, sunrise and sunset, it is perhaps the single-most photographed view for both budding and experienced photographers, who return again and again. Many consider this area to be the park at its best -- colorful blooms, enchanting animal life, and scenic, awe-inspiring beauty of mountain peaks and alpine lakes.
Begin on the Wonderland Trail, go a short distance, and veer right on the Lakes Trail. You will be moving up through a wet meadow to a junction with the High Lakes Trail at 3/4 of a mile. Turn right and travel about 1 1/4 miles with frequent views of Mount Rainier and the Tatoosh Range. At 2 miles, you'll reach a junction of the Lakes Trail. Turn right and downhill. Next up is Faraway Rock, and up means to a sheer cliff for a stupendous view of Louise Lake, Reflection Lakes, the Tatoosh Range (including Pinnacle Peak), and much of Stevens Canyon.
