The Gulbenkian Museum is considered to be one of the top museums in the world. It houses a magnificent collection of Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Islamic, Asian and European art. The Gulbenkian Museum was created by Armenian oil mogul Calouste Gulbenkian. The foundation supports this and other museums as well as a symphony orchestra and various music and dance programs. The Gulbenkian Museum is a “must” on any visit to Lisbon. There is an admission charge but like all museums in Lisbon it is free on Sunday’s until 1400. Open 10 AM (1000) to 6 PM (1800). The museum is closed on Monday’s.
