Cu Chi Tunnel

Cu Chi Tunnel by VisitWa

The tunnels of Củ Chi are an immense network of connecting underground tunnels located in the Củ Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam, and are part of a much larger network of tunnels that underlie much of the country. The Củ Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong's base of operations for the Tết Offensive in 1968. The tunnels were used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were of great importance to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces, and helped to counter the growing American military effort.

Canopy Tours Northwest

Canopy Tours Northwest by YodioMan

Ph. 360.529.4703 Canopy Tours Northwest is about "Breathtaking Forest Adventures." At Camano Island's Kristoferson Farm, a zip or a stroll through this sustainably managed forest really is a breathtaking forest experience. Owned and operated by a local family with roots on the island since 1912 and a firm commitment to sustainable forest stewardship and agricultural practices, this canopy tour allows us to share both the idea and the results all in the exciting context of an outdoor adventure which is, in a word, breathtaking. It is . . . • 6 zip lines (the longest is 660 feet) • a log bridge • 2 short trail walks • a 47-foot final rappel (don't worry, we have a constant velocity device which does the work so you float down smoothly) All through a stunning Pacific Northwest forest! Check out this 2 minute video player.vimeo.com/video/27387282 Canopy Tours NW is a 2013 winner of TripAdvisors Certificate of Excellence

EMP Museum -- Experience Music Project

EMP Museum -- Experience Music Project by museumsWA

EMP is a leading-edge, nonprofit museum, dedicated to the ideas and risk-taking that fuel contemporary popular culture. With its roots in rock 'n' roll, EMP serves as a gateway museum, reaching multigenerational audiences through our collections, exhibitions, and educational programs, using interactive technologies to engage and empower our visitors. When Frank O. Gehry began designing EMP, he was inspired to create a structure that evoked the rock ‘n’ roll experience. He purchased several electric guitars, sliced them into pieces, and used them as building blocks for an early model design. A fusion of textures and myriad colors, EMP’s exterior conveys all the energy and fluidity of music. Flying Heritage Collection

Flying Heritage Collection by museumsWA

The Flying Heritage Collection facility is located at the southeast corner of Paine Field in Everett, Washington. Set in an 51,000-square-foot (4,700 m2) hangar, FHC is a private collection rather than a museum. The Flying Heritage Collection is Paul G. Allen's collection of rare military aircraft. The Flying Heritage Collection includes artifacts and materials to illustrate the technical developments that took place between 1935 and 1945. Flying Heritage Collection's painstaking process of restoring its aircraft sets them apart from all other aviation artifacts, each restored to a level of authenticity never attempted before. From the wiring and paint to the canvas and engines, these planes are authentic in every detail, using—with few exceptions—only materials true to the period of their original construction. Hours: 10:00 am–5:00 pm Seven days a week in summer and Tues – Sun rest of the year. Admission: Adults $ 12, Active military and seniors $ 10, Youth (6-15) $8. Phone: (206) 342-4242
